Bears Travel to Jacksonville for Road Contest

The Bears and Dolphins are scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m.

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team heads back on the road to face Jacksonville on Sunday at Southern Oak Stadium. The match is slated to begin at 4 p.m.

The Bears are looking to get their 2021 campaign back on track after narrowly falling to North Florida, 2-1, last Saturday in a fiercely contested match.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Mercer is (9-17-3) against Jacksonville in all-time series history. The last meeting between the two was in September of 2019 which saw Jacksonville snatch a 2-1 win in overtime at Betts Stadium.
NOTABLES

Dawson Gideon and JR DeRose earned Son Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors for their performances against UNF last weekend.
Dawson Gideon converted a penalty kick at UNF for hist second goal of the season.
Mercer is averaging 12.67 shots per game and one goal per game.
Mercer is ranked first in the SoCon in points per game.

SCOUTING THE OSPREYS
The dolphins are 0-1-1 this season having battled the College of Charleston to a scoreless draw their opening match of the spring to the College of Charleston before suffering a 4-0 setback against Florida Atlantic. Forward Inti Antunez heads into his senior year having amassed eight points the previous season. Reed Davis had four shots in the match versus the College of Charleston with two of them being on target. In goal, the dolphins have freshman goalkeeper Jabari Gray who played all 200 minutes on the season. The rookie keeper made two saves while posting a shutout in his collegiate debut versus the College of Charleston and added four saves against FAU.
