Cummings to Play in 3X3U National Championship

16 teams of players representing every Division I conference will compete for the prize live on Twitter and ESPN2.
INDIANAPOLIS – Mercer's Ross Cummings has been selected to participate his second event of Final Four weekend, the 2021 Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship, scheduled for April 2-4 at The Pavilion in Indianapolis.
He will also participate in the 32nd annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships on April 1 on ESPN2 at 9 p.m.
The 3X3U Dos Equis National Championship features 64 players who have elected to begin their professional careers. The 64 athletes represent all 32 Division I conferences and compete alongside other aspiring pro prospects from conferences around the country. This year, each conference will be paired with another based on geographic region, comparable KenPom preseason rankings and conference history at the Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship. Cummings is one of four players on Team Dirty South, featuring players from the Southern and Southeastern Conferences.

he 16 teams will be split evenly into two pools, meaning more guaranteed games and more chances for players to take home their share of the prize. Teams will play each squad in their respective pool on April 2 and 3 before all 16 will head to the knockout stage on April 4, with the top two teams from each pool receiving byes to the quarterfinals.
Cummings recently completed his fifth season with the Orange & Black and led the program to an appearance in the Southern Conference Championship game. The sharpshooting guard finished third in program history with 246 made three-pointers and 16th with 1,244 points. He ranked second among Mercer players with an average of 13.2 points per game and led the squad with an average of 13.8 points per game in Southern Conference games. He was one only seven SoCon players to hit at least 40 percent of their three-pointers, connecting on 40.3 percent (73-of-181) of his tries. He holds two program top-10 rankings in three-pointers made in a single season, sitting second (101 in 2018-19) and 10th with his 73 treys in 2020-21.

The 2021 edition of the tournament will once again receive non-stop coverage via Twitter (@3X3UHoops) and ESPN2. Every second of the 2021 Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship will be available to a national audience beginning with pool play games on Friday and Saturday, April 2-3, and knockout rounds on Sunday, April 4. Twitter will be the exclusive home of pool play games, as well as the first three knockout rounds. ESPN2 will air the semifinal and championship contests. Friday features 32 games beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET with 24 games on tap Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. Play-in and quarterfinal games begin on Easter Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with the semifinal and championship games set for 3:30 p.m.

The voice of FIBA 3x3 Basketball, Kyle Montgomery, returns to the 3X3U airwaves alongside NCAA All-American, NBA Draft pick, ESPN analyst and 3x3 Olympic hopeful Robbie Hummel to call every game of the 2021 Tournament. Tate Frazier and Mark Titus of the Titus & Tate Podcast will also suit up as the hosts of the Dos Equis Lounge to provide commentary, postgame interviews and more over the three-day experience.
