
Rhatigan Scores 100th Goal in Win Over Hornets

Mercer is undefeated in SoCon play
DOVER, Del. – Hailey Rhatigan became the fifth player in Mercer history to score 100 goals in her career with four goals in the Bears 21-3 win over Delaware State on Thursday afternoon.

Eva Thorn opened the scoring for the Bears less than two minutes in the game. Two seconds later, it was Kayla Soltys from Thorn to find the back of the net. Over the next 12 minutes, Mercer added seven more goals from Lily Morin, Erin Degnan, Shannon Urey, Hailey Rhatigan, and Kayla Soltys. Hailey Rhatigan 100th career goal would come at the 15:09 mark to make give the Bears a 10-0 lead. Morin, Rhatigan, and Maddi Koury would add three more to the Black and Orange's total in four minutes to put the Bears up 13-0. The Hornets wouldn't get on the board until under the seven minute mark. In the last five minutes, Mercer would add four, two from Kileigh Casey, to go into the half with a 17-1 lead.

It would be Eva Thorn again who would open the scoring for the Bears with an assist from Chloe Schaeffer. Senior Caroline Kerr would score her first goal of the season with 22:29 left in the game, assisted by Maddi Koury. Mercer would score two more goals, one from Lyndsey Lewis and another from Maddi Koury, to close out the game. Mercer would end the game with a final score of 21-3.

- With Hailey Rhatigan's four goals in the game, she became the fifth player in Mercer history to score 100 goals in her career.
- Maddi Koury continues to help her teammates score. She totaled four assists in the game, bringing her season total to 13. She is the only Bear to have double-digit assists.
- Defender Ainsley Malamala snagged four groundballs and caused two turnovers, the most on between the two squads.
- Erin Degnan won four draw controls in the game.
- Goalie Iseabal Cryne earned her third win of the season. Her career total is now 21, five from becoming the most winning goalie in Mercer history.
