Bears Welcome Owls for a Senior Day Rematch

Mercer will honor 10 seniors prior to the game
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's lacrosse team welcomes the Kennesaw State Owls for a second showdown on Saturday, April 24. The game is set for 2 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the seventh meeting between the Bears and Owls. The last meeting was earlier this month at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Mercer defeated Kennesaw State in a thrilling overtime game. Freshman Maddi Koury scored the game winner for the Bears.

ABOUT THE BEARS
The Bears are coming off a heartbreaking 10-11 loss at Coastal Carolina on Saturday. Lily Morin became the fourth player in Mercer program history to register 100 draw controls. She joins Meghan Segreti (267), Lindsey Zeltwanger (136), and Michaela Lucas (126). Hailey Rhatigan led the Bears with six goals against Coastal Carolina. She ranks 11th in Division I, and 45th in the nation, in goals per game in her career. She averages 3.31 goals per game for her career. With Iseabal Cryne's five saves at Coastal Carolina, she moves up to 18th in Division I career saves. She now has 411 in her career, 89 away from hitting the 500 mark. Ainsley Malamala continues to lead the Black and Orange in caused turnovers. Her season total is now 11 after causing one against the Chanticleers. Maddi Koury is the lone Bear with double digit assists on the season. The freshman leads the team with 14 assists.

SCOUTING KENNESAW STATE Â Â
Kennesaw State is coming off a 17-6 loss at Liberty. Marissa Gore led the Owls with two goals in the game. Four other Owls scored against Liberty. Jaxsyn Schonewille, Caroline Farley, Julia Dellangelo, and Siena Gore each scored one goal. Marissa Gore, Jaxsyn Schonewille, Julia Weiss, and Rachel Price each snagged two groundballs in the game. Julia Weiss started in the cage for Kennesaw State and saw action for the majority of the game. During her time, she registered 12 saves. Errin Crowe saw the last six minutes between the pipes. She only allowed one goal.  The Owls are 1-1 in ASUN play with a win over Stetson and the loss against Liberty. Their last conference game is against Jacksonville on April 30.

NEXT UP
The Bears will stay home and welcome Jacksonville for their last regular season before hosting the 2021 Southern Conference Tournament. The Game is set for May 2 at 1 p.m.
