McCarthy to play in USILA Senior All-Star Game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Mercer's Will McCarthy will participate in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Senior All-Star Game on Friday evening.

The game is part of a pair of all-star games at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. A Division III all-star game will begin at 4 p.m. followed by the Division I/II game at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.

McCarthy is one of five Southern Conference players set to participate, joining a trio of players from High Point – defenseman Clayton Krol, midfielder Kevin Rogers and short stick midfielder Colin Clothier – along with midfielder Tyler Shoults from Richmond. The squad will be led by the Robert Morris coaching staff.

McCarthy appeared in 12 contests in 2021 and led the Bears with 19 goals. He recorded his first hat trick of the season in a win over Lenoir-Rhyne on Feb. 6 and turned in his second multi-goal performance of the season against Jacksonville (Feb. 20) in a neutral site contest. McCarthy's best game of the season came in a 10-9 win over the Cleveland State Vikings on Feb. 28 when he accounted for four of the Bears' 10 goals. He ended his Mercer career with 61 points and 29 goals for 90 points.
