Mercer Trips To Charlotte For First ASUN Contest

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's lacrosse team will make the trip to Charlotte, N.C. on Saturday, March 28 for the 2026 ASUN Conference opener against the Queens Royals at 2 p.m. at Queens Sports Complex.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the 4th meeting between these to squads with Mercer holding a perfect 3-0 record over Queens. The Bears and Royals faced-off last season at Five Star Stadium on Saturday, March 29 resulting in a close 12-11 victory for the Bears on Alumni Day.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears are coming off of a big 12-11 win over St. John's on Saturday, March 14 at Five Star Stadium where they closed out nonconference play on a high note.
Nine different Bears found the back of the net for Mercer with Michael Frederick, Jack Sullivan and Ganon Cope each recording two goals, respectively. Luke Fox posted three assists and a goal while the remaining goals came from Dillon Bush, Dylan McKelvy, Will Zylstra, Connor Corkill and Quinn Kelley with his first goal of the season. Seven different players for Mercer caused a turnover and Christopher Cappelmann went 13-25 at the faceoff x and scooped up five ground balls. In between the pipes for the Bears, freshman goalkeeper Jacob Neuman registered 11 saves in the victory.
SCOUTING QUEENSÂ
The Royals are led by Jake Richard who enters his third season at the helm for Queens. The Royals finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 3-11 and went win-less in the ASUN with a record of 0-5.
The Royals currently sit with a record of 4-4 with wins over Le Moyne, Mercyhurst, UMASS Lowell and Hampton.
