Mercer Set To Host Utah At Five Star Stadium On Saturday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's lacrosse team will host the Utah Utes at Five Star Stadium in another Atlantic Sun Conference battle at 11 a.m. in Macon on Saturday, April 4.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the 7th meeting between these to squads with Utah holding the overall record 5-1 over Mercer. The first matchup dates back to 2019 when the Utes and the Bears met up in Salt Lake City, Utah and the Utes came away with the 13-9 victory. Mercer's lone win came in 2021 in Macon where it took down Utah 15-10. The most recent meeting was last season on Saturday, April 5 2025, resulting in a 16-10 Utah win.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears are coming off of a dominant 7-4 win last weekend over Queens in Charlotte, N.C. to pick up their first win in ASUN play and sixth win overall on the 2026 season.
Sophomore attackman Will Zylstra led the scoring for the Bears with three goals and an assist in the victory. Junior attackman Dillon Bush put up two goals of his own while Michael Frederick and Ganon Cope also found the back of the net for the Bears. Mercer's defense was on lockdown with Thomas Venzie causing three turnovers and picking up six groundballs. Brady Corkill posted two caused turnovers and three groundballs while Quinn Kelley tallied five ground balls and five caused turnovers. Between the pipes for the Bears, Jacob Neuman recorded 15 saves (.789) in the win.

The Utes are led by Andrew McMinn who enters his fifth season at the helm for Utah. The Utes finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 6-9 and went 4-1 in the ASUN, falling to Air Force 11-10 in the ASUN Tournament Championship.
The Utes currently sit with a record of 6-3 with a big win over Dartmouth and losses to #11 Duke, Denver and Virginia. Utah took down Bellarmine 20-14 in the 2026 ASUN opener last weekend in Salt Lake City.
