SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
For the 20th time, Mercer and ETSU will meet tomorrow night. The hosts hold the ever-so-slim one-match series lead at 8-7-4 and have taken four of the last five. Mercer has not defeated the Buccaneers since needing penalties to oust ETSU in the SoCon semifinal in the 2017 season. A season ago, the Bucs used an 88th-minute goal by Lucas Lightner to leave Betts Stadium with a win.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Mercer could not complete a second-half comeback in a road matchup at South Carolina. They fell 2-1, but the Gamecocks' keeper saved what-could-have-been the leveling score with just mere seconds left in the match. Â Michael Ille found the back of the net when he was assisted by Kadeem Agard in the 75th minute. Dylan Gaither is still pacing the MU attack with four goals and an assist this season. Reigning SoCon defensive player of the week, Trevor McMullen, has played the last two matches and has stopped eight shots in 180 minutes of action.
SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
ETSU's attack is led by Tarik Pannholzer, who is second in the SoCon in points (11) and goals (5). Other Bucs to watch include Carlos Portas, Gabriel Ramos and Kieran Richards – who all are tied for fourth in league with two assists each to their names. Â
