Bears Come Up Short Against ETSU, 72-64.

ETSU Defeats Mercer in Freedom Hall
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Mercer comes up short in Johnson City as ETSU defeats the Bears, 72-64. Mercer moves to 4-2 in conference gameplay, 4-2 in January, and 3-6 in away games this season.

Mercer (11-8, 4-2 SoCon) had James Glisson III and Felipe Haase both tally 17 points while Haase also went 100% from the free throw line. Haase and Glisson combined for 12 rebounds on the night. Jalen Johnson was the third highest scoring Bear with 14 points and three rebounds along with two blocks. Jordan Jones notched six points on the night, both in clutch moments at the time with a key "And-One" and a go ahead three with 3:27 left in the game. However, it wasn't enough to earn the win in Johnson City. Kamar Robertson and Shannon Grant combined for 8 points.Â

East Tennessee State (12-8, 4-3 SoCon) had David Sloan lead the Bucs with 23 points. Sloan went 10-of-17 from the field on the night. Ledarrius Brewer added 18 points in 35 minutes of gameplay on a 6-for-14 shooting performance from the field. Ledarrius' brother, Ty Brewer, had 14 points shooting 50% from the field. ETSU shot 30.77% from downtown in the second half. Jordan King was the fourth and final Buc to finish in double digit scoring with 12.
