MACON, Ga. – Mercer University Athletics will welcome students from Bibb County School District on Tuesday, December 6 for the men's basketball game against Middle Georgia State at 11:00 a.m. at Hawkins Arena.

"This is a great partnership between the Bibb County School District and Mercer University, but even more this is an opportunity for students to see themselves as college-bound while extending their learning regarding Physical Education standards through Mercer Athletics," Bibb County School District Superintendent Dr. Dan A. Sims said.

RECENT ACTION
Tuesday is the first time this season that the Bears have a second-straight home game. Mercer fell in a close game to Kennesaw State, 66-63, on Friday at Hawkins Arena.

Graduate transfer Luis Hurtado Jr. recorded his second double-double of the season against the Owls with 15 points and 12 rebounds. He is the first player to record 10 defensive rebounds for Mercer since Jalen Johnson did against FGCU on December 19, 2021.

The Bears shot 50% from the field, led by Shawn Walker Jr. with 16 points. A late second half comeback fell just short to hand the Bears the first loss at home this season.
