Eagles Upend Bears on Thursday afternoon
MACON, Ga. - In nonconference action, Mercer dropped a Thursday afternoon decision to in-state foe, Georgia Southern, at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center.
The Eagles (4-4) claimed the doubles point with identical 6-2 wins at Nos. 2 and 3 over the Bears (5-6).
Despite dropping the singles points, Mary Courville took Georgia Southern's Nadja Meier to a decisive third set at No. 1 when the match was clinched. Additionally, Lauren Rich held a 7-6, 3-0 lead over Sophie Wagemaker at No. 3.
