Bears Fall In Highly Competitive Match With Stetson

Mercer drops match by score of 4-3

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team fell in a nail biter of a match to the Stetson Hatters by a score of 4-3. With the loss, Mercer falls to 4-2 on the season and Stetson improves to 4-2 on the year.

Stetson claimed all three doubles matches by the narrowest of margins to earn the point for doubles. The two teams would go on to split singles play, each earning three wins.

David Georgadze earned the win at number two singles in thrilling fashion. He took down Alexandre Hillhouse of Stetson 6-4, 3-6, 11-9.

Samuel Macleod was dominant, earning his victory in number four singles by a score of 6-3, 6-0 at number four singles.

In another thriller, Samuel Barrow took down Ervin Eminefendic 4-6, 6-2, 10-4 in number five singles.

The Mercer men's tennis team will be back in action on Monday, February 14 against Kennesaw State in Macon, Ga.
