Bears and Tar Heels set for second meeting
MACON, Ga. – Venturing on the road for just the second of the season, Mercer will face a tough test in second-ranked North Carolina for Friday afternoon game, set for 5 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
For the second time ever, the Bears and Tar Heels will meet. A season ago, then-top ranked-North Carolina took the late March contest by an 18-3 margin, and also took place in Chapel Hill.
SCOUTING MERCER
The Bears come in at 3-1 and winners of their last two after falling to now-17th ranked USC in the season's opening weekend. In the 16-11 win over UMass Lowell, Chloe Schaeffer led Mercer with seven points on six goals and an assist while Hailey Rhatigan tallied four goals to power the offense. Both Schaeffer and Rhatigan scored twice from eight meters away. Isea Cryne and Kate Vanderlinde split time in the cage in the win and combined for 13 saves. Rhatigan is tallying 4.25 goals per game, which places her fifth in Division I.
SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA
North Carolina enters with an unblemished, 6-0 mark with wins over ranked Florida and Jacksonville. In their 20-9 win over Northwestern, San Geiersbach led the Heels with six points from five goals and an assist to help lead in the win. Taylor Moreno registered 11 saves in all 60 minutes between the pipes. Offensively, Jamie Ortega's 28 points (15 goals and 13 assists) lead the UNC offense.
