Jacksonville drops Mercer in road finale, 17-5

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mercer fell in its final road game of the season to No. 7 Jacksonville from Rock Stadium.

Six different Bears contributed to the scoring on the afternoon in the SoCon fracas. Sean Goldsmith, Cole Leggett, Taylor Dooley, Ryan Katchen and Kyle Cox scored for Mercer.

Cox, Dooley and Parker Junod added assists for the Orange & Black. Ashton Wood won an impressive 14-of-23 decisions in the faceoff circle and scooped 10 ground balls. Wesley Chairs forced the Dolphins into a pair of turnovers, which led the Bears in the category.

Between the pipes, Colin Kelley stopped 16 shots in the entirety of the game.

Mercer will welcome High Point as they honor the graduates of the program. Opening faceoff between the Bears and Panthers is set for Noon on Saturday, April 30.
