Bears Set for Senior Day

MACON, Ga. – Mercer will wrap up the 2022 slate with a matchup against High Point tomorrow afternoon and honor its graduating student-athletes. In addition to being the season finale, it marks the Bears' final SoCon game.

Series History
Mercer and High Point will meet for the 10^th time with the Panthers holding the 6-3 series lead. Excluding the canceled meeting in 2020, these sides have met annually since 2013. Since an April 2017 win by the Bears, High Point has taken the three contests between the sides. Sean Goldsmith led Mercer with four goals and an assist in last season's contest in North Carolina.

Scouting Mercer
Mercer battled Jacksonville and came up short last week on the road. Kyle Cox and Taylor Dooley led the Bears with two points apiece in the game against the seventh-ranked Dolphins. Goldsmith's 32 goals and 14 assists lead Mercer this season from the offensive standpoint. Ashton Wood, the SoCon's most decorated faceoff specialist, leads the Bears with 113 wins and 72 ground balls this season. Garrett LeClaire and Wesley Chairs have combined to cause 32 turnovers on the opposition so far in 2022. In net, Colin Kelley has logged over 778 minutes and tallied 168 saves.

Scouting High Point
High Point has split its last six games, which have included league wins by double-digits and narrow losses. The Panthers are led by Asher Nolting and Brayden Mayea, who have put up 76 and 43 points, respectively on the season. Collin Hoben's 93 faceoff wins and 42 ground balls leads HPU in those categories. Parker Green has seen the most action for the Panthers this season and he's stopped 128 shots in nearly 674 minutes between the pipes.
