Men's Tennis Adds a Trio Ahead of 2022-23

MACON, Ga. – Mercer men's tennis coach Eric Hayes announced the addition of three student-athletes – Howell Burns, Lucas Dini and Nemanja Stefanovic – ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Burns, a Valdosta, Ga. product, joins Mercer following a strong prep career. With Valwood High, he won a state championship, claimed a runner-up finish and collected a region championship with the Valiants. In his senior campaign, he tallied a 16-0 record on the way to a region crown and state runner-up finish.

Dini, a transfer from Alcorn State, joins the Bears after a competitive 2021-22 season with the Braves. The Uba, Minas Gerais, Brazil, native was named Alcorn State's Male Freshman of the Year following the 2019-20 academic year. He picked up seven wins at No. 2 doubles in the 2021 season and played in the top spot for the Braves.The junior was the No. 1 player in Brazil for 16 and under juniors and was a part of Brazil's Junior Davis Cup squad.

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Stefanovic joins Mercer after great achievements. Ranked the ninth best in his home province of Ontario, he won the ITF Woodbridge Doubles title, finished fifth in the 18 and under Canadian Junior Nationals and holds the No. 678 spot in ITF World Junior rankings.
