Wraps Up Four Game Road Swing

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team concludes a four game road swing on Friday Sept. 9, when it travels to Tampa to take on the University of South Florida Bulls, of the American Athletic Conference.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
This will be the fifth all-time meeting between the Bulls and the Bears. USF leads the series 4-0-0. The teams first played in 1984. The most recent match up was in 2012, with South Florida winning 1-0.
NOTABLES

Goalkeeper Trevor McMullen is the SoCon Defensive Player of the Week, for the week that ended September 5^th. McMullen backstopped the Bears to a 1-1 tie with North Carolina State and a 3-2 win over Virginia Tech.
In their four games, the Bears have twice given up one goal, and both of those games have ended in ties. The other two games, the Bears surrendered two goals, but those have been the two Mercer wins.
Dylan Gaither is tied for the NCAA lead with five assists. He also has two goals, including a remarkable goal from midfield against Virginia Tech. That goal was featured on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day.
Following this game, the Bears will begin a seven-game homestand on Sunday.

SCOUTING THE BULLS
Much like the Bears, South Florida has played a very challenging schedule. That includes match ups against number 24 ranked North Carolina a 1-0 loss, and number two-ranked Washington, a 3-0 loss. The Bulls are looking for their first goal of the season. South Florida has surrendered just five goals in it four games, including shutting out Florida Gulf Coast in a season opening 0-0 tie.
