MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's soccer team is set to host the Samford Bulldogs in its final regular season home game of the year, Thursday night at Betts Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY
Samford leads the all-time series 17-3-5. The two teams met twice last season, once in the regular season, a 2-2 tie, and in the SoCon Tournament Semifinals, a 1-0 Samford win.

Mercer has scored first in five of its six conference games this season. No other team in the conference has scored first in more than four games.

LAST TIME OUT
Mercer couldn't have scripted a much better start when Ciara Whitely scored 116 seconds in to the game, but two second half goals in a span of three minutes from Western Carolina helped the first place Catamounts escape Macon with a 2-1 win last Sunday.

SCOUTING SAMFORD
Samford enters Thursday's game at 8-3-4 overall and 4-1-1 in SoCon play. Samford's only conference loss was a 1-0 defeat to Western Carolina.

The Bulldogs have won at least a share of the SoCon regular season title for nine consecutive seasons and were the 2023 preseason favorites in the coaches poll. They currently sit two points behind Western Carolina with three conference games remaining.

Samford has shut out four of its last five conference opponents and hasn't allowed more than one goal in any of its six conference games.

Samford is third in the conference in goals per game (2.00) and second in the conference in goals allowed per game (0.60).

The Bulldogs have two players who lead the team with five goals a piece in Mary Raymond and Kyla Reynolds.
