MACON, GA. –The Mercer Bears tied Furman University 0-0 in the Baba Agbaje Memorial Game on Saturday night at Betts Stadium in Macon, Georgia.

Mercer moves to 5-3-5 on the season and 1-1-1 in Southern Conference play, and Furman moves to 7-3-2 on the season, and 2-0-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bear's defense showed out tonight against the Paladins, Fullbacks Natnael McDonald and William Pondeca were an important part of the success of the defense on Saturday night. Along with the fullbacks, center defenders Sekou Agard and Chad Eldridge were winning many balls out of the air and making huge tackles that slowed the play of the Paladins down. Midfielders Carlos Santamaria, Nick Wanzer, and Rayvon McGann played crucial roles in creating opportunities for forwards Barzee Blama and Kadeem Agard. The Bears battled the Paladins to the final whistle, clutching up a 0-0 draw against a conference opponent.
