De Diego Quinones Highlights Full Day Of Action For Women’s Tennis

STATESBORO – Sophomore Marina de Diego Quinones teamed up with freshman Tea Zivic for a doubles win, and then tacked up a pair of straight-sets singles wins, to highlight a full day of action for the Mercer women's tennis team on Day 2 of the Georgia Southern Fall Shootout on Saturday.

De Diego Quinones, a product of Spain, toppled Georgia Southern's Sonja Keranen by 6-3 and 6-4 scores in her opening singles matchup of the day, then made short work of East Tennessee State's Julia Milan (6-3, 6-2) in straight sets as well. Zivic and de Diego Quinones also registered a 6-4 doubles win over Davidson's duo of Olivia Hooper and Alexandra Rodehorst.

The newcomer's singles victories were two of six singles wins on the day for the Bears. Seniors Teodora Ristic, Lekha Varudandi and Kristin Yordanova, as well as junior Emi Cosatto, also logged a win in singles competition on Saturday.

The Bears will close out competition at Georgia Southern's Wallis Tennis Center on Sunday.
