Volleyball Beats UNCG to Start Second Half of Conference Play
10/20/2023 7:50:00 PM | Volleyball
GREENSBORO – After a trying set one, the Bears dominated sets two and three to take a sweep of UNCG in Greensboro.
The Spartans came out fighting to protect their home court in set one, leading most of the set. After seemingly constant ties and a few lead changes, Mercer brought it down to the wire to tie the set at 24-24 and take the last two points to win the opening set. Sets two and three were vastly different games, with Mercer only allowing two ties for the rest of the game, otherwise staying in the lead. The Bears scored on nine service aces from five different players. This is the team's fifth straight conference win and the fourth sweep in five games.
The Bears will travel to Spartanburg to play at Wofford on October 21 at 6 p.m.
