MACON, Ga. –The Mercer Men's soccer team will travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina on October 7 to battle Wofford at Synder Field.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
This will be the 26th meeting between these two programs. Mercer is currently 17-5-3 against Wofford. The last time these two programs met, the Bears and terriers would draw 0-0 on October 1, 2022. Dylan Gaither would lead all Bears in shots with three, while Fernando Arteaga and Nick Wanzer led the team with shots on target with one each.
LAST TIME OUT
Mercer moves to 5-2-4 on the season following a 2-1 defeat against Georgia State. The Bears would start the game off behind early off a goal when a Georgia State free kick deflected off a Mercer player into the goal. The Bears would battle back and be inches offsides from evening the score at 1-1. Georgia State would use this call to move the ball quickly up the wing creating another scoring chance which that would bury. Mercer would continue to battle back from this deficit creating many opportunities for the forwards and midfielders. One of the opportunities the Bears created lead to a free kick from 20-yards. Angel Gonzalez would step up and bury the shot into the top left corner in the 32nd minute. This would be the final goal scored in the match, putting the Bears behind 2-1.

Last season Wofford finished 6-9-2 and went 2-2-1 in the Southern Conference play.
Throughout ten games this season, the Terriers are 3-2-5 coming off a 2-0 win over Presbyterian on Tuesday, October 3. Prior to the match against Presbyterian, the Terriers would open Southern Conference play with a 0-0 draw against ETSU. Wofford was selected to finished fifth in a six-team Southern Conference.
