Barrow Claims Flight C Singles Title At Gridiron Classic

MACON – Macon native and Stratford Academy product Samuel Barrow completed his unblemished run through Flight C singles with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win over Georgia Southern's Alex Suk in Sunday's championship match to highlight action for the Mercer men's tennis team on the final day of competition at the event.

The Bears claimed two other singles victories as well in Sunday's action at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Sophomore Howell Burns yielded just a lone game in a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Middle Georgia State's Pedro Tence, while Andrew Branicki claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win over Georgia College's Sebastian Nunez.

The Orange & Black will be back in action again, October 12-15, when it heads to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech-hosted ITA Southeast Regionals at the Byers Tennis Complex.
