MACON, Ga. – Mercer women's golf head coach Michele Drinkard has announced the signing of Analiese Raath.
Â
Raath will join the Bears in the Fall of 2024. The Lakeland, Florida native is currently in her second season at Daytona State, a Division I junior college in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Â
"Analiese has taken the opportunity at Daytona State to develop under Coach Brown's leadership and we are excited that she has chosen Mercer to continue her collegiate career," said Mercer head coach Michele Drinkard.
Â
"She may be quiet in nature, but it is evident how much Analiese loves the game and loves to compete. She is a really good ball striker, and we can't wait to see her in the orange & black next fall. Analiese will have an immediate impact in our program."
Â
In the 2023 fall season at Daytona State, Raath shot a final round of 3-under, 69 at the Furman Invitational. She also shot a second round, 3-under, 69 at the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational.
Â
Raath had a round of 73 or better in seven of her 11 rounds in this fall.
Â
While competing in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), Raath won the Florida Junior Tour at Sara Bay Country Club in 2020.
Â
She finished third at the AJGA Senior Showcase at PGA National in 2020. Raath also had a top 5 finishes at AJGA Bay Hill and AJGA Stoneybrook.
Â
While competing at Lakeland High School, Raath finished third in the 2021 FHSAA State Finals. She had an outstanding final round of 65.
Â
Adding to her accomplishments, Raath qualified for the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals at Augusta National in 2021. She earned her spot after advancing through three rounds of qualifying. Raath said at the time it was a great experience for her and "nerve-racking" to be able to compete at a place like Augusta with so many people watching.
Â
"Being at Daytona State for the past two years has prepared me for life and for my transition to Mercer," said Analiese Raath. "I'm so grateful that Coach Brown has been a strong, caring leader. She has coached me through the ups and downs of the game and has helped me succeed against strong competition. I'm thankful for the opportunity Coach Drinkard has provided me and I can't wait to compete as a Bear for the next two years."
