SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's matchup between the Bears and the Utes will be the third meeting between these two lacrosse programs. The Utes currently lead the series 2-1. The last meeting between these two programs was March 26, 2022, when the Bears were defeated by the Utes 23-9 in Salt Lake City Utah.
RECENT ACTION
Head coach Ryan Danehy and the Bears would fall to Cleveland State last Saturday, April 8, in an 8-11 game. The Bears move to 4-8 on the season and 3-3 in ASUN Conference play.
Six Bears contributed to the scoring on the afternoon. Senior attackman Carl Klepper led the way for the Bears with three goals of his own. Freshmen attackmen Michael Frederick, senior attackman Parker Junod, freshmen midfielder Thomas Strong, senior midfielder Matt O'Connor and graduate student Ashton Wood each added a goal for the Bears.
SCOUTING UTAH UNIVERSITY
Utah is led by Andrew McMinn who is entering his second season as head coach for the Utes. The Utes are currently 7-4 and 5-0 in ASUN conference play. They have had wins over Lindenwood, Robert Morris, Jacksonville, Air Force, Detroit Mercy, Bellarmine, and Marquette.
The Utes return 31 players from the 2022 season, and they welcomed 17 new freshmen. The Utes current leading point score is junior attackman Jordan Hyde with 38 points (35 goals, 3 assists). Tied with Hyde is junior attackman Tyler Bradbury with 38 points (20 goals, 18 assists). The Utes third leading point scorer is redshirt freshmen attackman Ryan Stines with 30 points (26 goals, 4 assists).
