MACON, Ga. -Â Mercer women's lacrosse will host the Furman Paladins from Five Star Stadium Saturday to open up a three game homestand.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will be the 12th all-time meeting between Mercer and Furman. Furman leads the series 6-5, but the Bears have won the last three.
LAST TIME OUT
Shannon Urey set a Mercer single-game goal record with 11 goals and Mercer held off a third quarter Wofford comeback to defeat the Terriers 21-10 Wednesday evening at Gibbs Stadium.
With the win, the Bears move to 5-0 in conference play and remain perfect on the road at 7-0.
Urey's 11 goals breaks the previous Mercer record of nine goals held by Lindsey Zeltwenger since 2017. It is also the most goals scored by any player in Big South history and is the most goals scored in a game by any Division I women's lacrosse player this season.
The Bears once again outshot their opponent by a large margin as shots were 42-14 in favor of the Bears. In a matchup of the top two draw control teams in the conference Mercer held a 20-13 advantage in that department.
Lyndsey Lewis had a hat trick for her second consecutive game and Gabby DiVirgilio also had a hat trick, her first of the season.
Emma Pizzo had five draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls. Kayla Soltys led Mercer with seven draw controls for the second consecutive game.
SCOUTING FURMAN
Furman enters Saturday's game with a 7-5 record and 4-1 record in conference play. Furman's lone conference loss was a 9-8 defeat to Campbell. The Paladins were picked to finish fourth in the conference by the coaches in the preseason poll.
Furman is third in the conference in scoring at 10.83 goals per game. They are also third in goals against, as they allow 12.5 goals per game.
The Paladins average the third most shots per game in the conference at 27.92 and have the sixth best shot percentage in the Big South at 38.8 percent.
Furman averages 7.67 caused turnovers per game, which ranks eighth in the Big South. They are fourth in the conference with 13.42 draw controls per game and win 50.8 percent of their draw controls.
Furman's leading goal sorer is Meagan Beal who has 27 goals on the season, eighth most in the Big South. She also leads the team with 39 points and is second in the conference to Mercer's Erin Degnan in draw controls per game with 4.25 draw controls per game.
Right behind her is Anna Roser who has 26 goals on the year. Hannah Dintino is second on the team in points with 34 (23G, 11A).
Furman's starting goalie, Lily Rathbun is fourth in the Big South with a 12.47 goals against average and has a save percentage of 40.0 percent.
