
Barrow, MacLeod Named to Academic All-District Team

MACON, Ga. – Two Mercer men's tennis players were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, it was announced on Tuesday. Samuel Barrow and Samuel MacLeod earned the honor for their success on the court, in the classroom, and out in the community.
To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must hold at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or important reserve on the team.
Barrow went 10-7 overall in singles with an excellent 5-1 conference record and earned the second-most doubles wins on the team with 12. The junior clinched three matches this season, including two in conference play. He helped clinched the doubles point in the Southern Conference Quarterfinals against Wofford with Mariano Argote and contributed to the doubles point in a monumental win over ETSU during the regular season.
As a neuroscience major, Barrow holds a 3.820 GPA. He earned a 4.0 in the fall semester to be named to the President's List and also volunteers with the Prosthetics and Orthotics Club on campus.
MacLeod was named to the All-Southern Conference Singles Second Team this season after posting the second-most singles wins on the squad with 13 overall and a 6-1 mark in league play. The junior finished the season on a six-match winning streak in singles, featuring a straight-set victory over Wofford in the SoCon Quarterfinals. MacLeod clinched the huge match against ETSU in the regular season and also clinched the match against The Citadel. In doubles, he posted eight wins on the top two courts. MacLeod holds a 3.540 GPA as a sports marketing and analytics major.
