
Mercer Men’s Lacrosse Adds Five Transfers

MACON, Ga. – Mercer Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Ryan Danehy is excited to announce the signing of Rand Paddack, Chase Cope, Peyton McNeill, Max Schutt, and Carson Van Note.
Rand Paddack, a sophomore goalie joins Mercer from Bryant University. Paddack a high school graduate from Palatine High School in Palatine, Illinois. During his four years with Palatine, Paddack posted 246 saves and a save percentage of 65%. He was named the teams MVP and an All-State Nominee.
Chase Cope, a graduate midfielder joins Mercer from the University of Maryland. During his time with the Terps, Cope won a national championship in 2021 and helped the Terps go undefeated during that season. Cope scored his first career goal in 2020 against High Point. During the 2021 season, Cope would switch to short-stick defensive middie and would see action in 11 contests. He would see valuable time in their NCAA Tournament games against Duke and Vermont.
Peyton McNeill, a graduate midfielder joins Mercer from Lafayette College. Appeared in nine games for the Leopards. He made his college debut against No.2 Penn State in 2020. Following his freshman campaign, McNeill was one of 36 players selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, posting a 3.75 GPA. Prior to attending Lafayette, McNeill would score 106 goals and 84 assists while playing midfield for Wilmington Friends school.
Max Schutt, a junior LSM joins Mercer from Harford Community College. During his two years with the owls, Schutt appeared in 17 games, and started 10 of them. In his final season Schutt would start ten out of 12 games, and cause 11 turnovers and scooped up 23 groundballs. Schutt also helped the Fighting Owls become the NJCAA Men's Lacrosse National Champions.
Carson Van Note, a graduate face-off specialist joins Mercer from Oglethorpe University. Van Note finished Stormy Petrels career with 24 goals, 19 assists, 246 groundballs and went 381-648 (.587) from the face-off x. During his senior year, Van Note went 12-12 from the x and scooped up 14 groundballs against Centenary on February 16.

"I'm incredibly excited about these five additions to the program," said Danehy. "The transfer portal is a new and unique twist to the college recruiting landscape. We want guys who we feel will fit in to the culture here both on and off the field. There's no question that these five will have an immediate positive impact within our program. I'm excited to see them compete this fall! Go Bears!"
