Men’s Golf Finishes 15th At Mirabel Maui Jim Intercollegiate

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Tobias Jonsson closed out his stay in south central Arizona with a 3-under-par 68 to finish 21st on the individual leaderboard and pace the Mercer men's golf team to a 15th-place finish at the talent-laden Mirabel Maui Jim Intercollegiate.
The Bears (-5) combined for a 2-under-par 282 in Sunday's final round at The Mirabel Club. Jonsson (-7) paced the final-day surge for the Orange & Black, but Trey Mixon (-3) carded a 1-under-par 70 in the final round before settling into a tie for 37th place. Jay Spivey (+4), who equaled Jonsson with a team tournament-low round of 67 on Saturday, concluded the 3-day event in 67th place, while Connor Holcroft (+9) and Jonathan Parker (+13) walked away from Scottsdale with finishes of 72nd and tied for 73rd, respectively.
Sixth-ranked Auburn (-56) out-paced the rest of the 15-team field by 11 strokes, with Fresno State (-45) and San Diego State (-43) concluding the event in second and third place, respectively.
Mercer will be back in action, October 2-3, when it makes the long trip to Erie, Colo., for the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational at the Colorado National Golf Club.
