SERIES HISTORY
Thursday's game between Mercer and UNCG is the 23rd all-time meeting between the two programs. Mercer leads the series 17-5. The two teams split their two regular season meetings last season with each team winning on the road. The team's met for a third time last season in the SoCon Tournament where UNCG defeated Mercer in overtime, 63-59.

The Spartans were picked to finish sixth out of eight teams Southern Conference (SoCon) preseason coaches poll.
UNCG enters the game having won their first two conference games of the season at home over Wofford and Furman.
UNCG is one of the better offensive and defensive teams in the SoCon as they lead the league in scoring defense at 52.7 points per game and are second in the SoCon in points per game at 67.1, behind only Furman.
The Spartans are also strong on the boards as they outrebound opponents by 6.5 rebounds per game, second best in the SoCon.
UNCG has the conference's fourth leading scorer in Jayde Gamble who is averaging 13.2 points per game. Preseason All-Conference selection Isys Grady also averages double figures with 10.0 points per game.
LAST TIME OUT
In a high scoring game that saw each team go on long scoring runs in the first half, ETSU outscored the Bears 24-15 in the fourth quarter to pick up its second conference win in as many games this season.
Each team got balanced scoring and contributions from its bench as a total of 17 different players scored in the game. Both teams had four players score in double figures.

Mercer senior forward Stacie Jones has scored at least 13 points while shooting 50% or better from the field in each of her last six games.
