CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A lengthy rain delay was not enough to deter unbeaten Miami (Fla.) as the Hurricanes surrendered just six games on the way to grabbing the coveted doubles point, and then registered six straight-sets singles victories on the way to a 7-0 triumph over the Mercer men's tennis team on Friday evening at UM's Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Seniors Lucas Dini and Samuel MacLeod both pushed the second set of their singles matches to tiebreakers on court Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, to break up the monotony, but the hosts prevailed in both instances. Dini fell to Miami's Martin Katz by 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) scores, while MacLeod succumbed to Antonio Prat, 6-2 and 7-6 (7-5).
The Bears will close out their trip to South Florida on Saturday with a neutral site matchup against Buffalo on UM's campus. First serve has been scheduled for 11 a.m.
