Bears Add Shingo Masuda To 2024-25 Roster

MACON – Mercer head coach Eric Hayes installed additional depth to his 2024-25 men's tennis roster on Wednesday when Japan native Shingo Masuda inked his name to a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career with the Bears.

Masuda treks to Middle Georgia with impeccable tennis credentials, including an International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Ranking of No. 171. A regular on the ITF World Junior circuit, Masuda advanced all the way through to the semifinal round of the ITF Chandigarh India event, as well as the Matsuyama Challenge ITF tournament in Japan.

Boasting a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 11.48, he was also among the draw in the 2023 Australian Open Junior Championships at the Daisy Hill Squash & Racquet Club in Logan.Â
