Men's Basketball is Ready to Go in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C.– The Bears (8-12,1-6) will play their last road game until Feb. 10 on Saturday at UNC Greensboro (15-5, 6-1). The two squads have each won two and lost two games since current Spartan's head coach Mike Jones took the lead in Greensboro. Saturday's game will be streamed on ESPN+ at 7 p.m.
The Bears are just 2-7 on the road in the series and have dropped six of their last seven against the Spartans in Greensboro and are also 2-7 on the road this season. Mercer will return to their home court on Jan. 31 to host ETSU.

| UNCG and Samford sit at the top of the Southern Conference, each only suffering one loss in conference play. The Spartans' lone loss came to the Bulldogs in Birmingham. UNCG has won its last four games, most recently a three-point win in overtime at Western Carolina. Mikeal Brown-Jones leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 21.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. In Wednesday's game at Western Carolina, Brown-Jones dropped a stunning 39 points and 9 rebounds. He drained four 3-pointers and was 13-16 from the free throw line, while also adding one block and three steals on defense. |
