MACON - The Mercer men's soccer team will honor former Mercer student-athlete Baba Agbaje, who tragically passed in April of 2023, at the second annual Baba Agbaje Memorial Game on Saturday. Agbaje played for the Bears for four years, making four starts and appearing in 18 games, while also being named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. Agbaje was not only known as an athlete but also an incredible person that many aspired to be like. He was known for his contagious smile and laughter, as well as his ability to bring light and joy to anyone who had any interaction with him. Head Coach Brad Ruzzo described Agbaje as an incredible person, who embodied what it means to be a Mercer Bear.

Baba's number one priority in life was to help heal the world. In honor of both his life and his legacy, the Baba Agbaje Bread for Haiti Legacy Fund was created which provides education, clothing, and nutrition to the impoverished children of Haiti.
