
Volleyball Moves To 3-0 In SoCon After Win Over The Mocs

MACONÂ - The Mercer volleyball team rallied to defeat Chattanooga in a five-set thriller Saturday night. The Bears move to 13-3 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.
Skye Ekes and Skyler Bumpers combined for a total of 35 kills in the victory. Ekes achieved a career-high 21 kills and Bumpers tallied a season-high 14 kills. Libero MeMe Davis recorded 16 digs and seven assists, leading the defense. Brooke Phillips added 43 assists, three aces and eight digs to help the Bears past the Mocs.
The Bears hit the road again on Oct. 10 against the Bulldogs of Samford in Birmingham, Ala. at the Pete Hanna Center. First serve is schedule for 7:30 p.m.

The two squads exchanged kills back and forth throughout the entire set. Skye Ekes secured the set-win with two kills to force the match to a fifth set. | |
