SERIES HISTORY
Sunday's game will mark the 11th all-time meeting between Mercer and VMI. Mercer leads the series 8-1-1. Last year, the two teams met in Lexington, Virginia where the Bears won, 2-0.
LAST TIME OUT
Lindsay Bell put together one of the best games in goal in her career as a Bear Thursday night, as she made a career high 11 saves to help guide the Bears to a 2-0 win at home over Chattanooga from Betts Stadium.
SCOUTING VMI
VMI enters Sunday's game with a 1-3-0 record in conference play. The Keydets' lone conference win was a 2-1 win at The Citadel. The Keydets were picked to finish last in the preseason coaches poll.
VMI got out to a great start to the season with three shutout wins. Since then, the Keydets haven't quite got the same defensive performances as they are allowing three goals per game over their last nine games.
Two players for VMI have been contributing to most of the team's goals this season. Junior forward, Riley Boucher leads the team with five goals. She is followed by sophomore forward Barrett Callejo who has four goals on the season. No other player has more than one goal this year for the Keydets.
The expected starter in goal for VMI is senior Whitney Tracy who owns a 2.18 goals against average and a .719 save percentage.
