Kozierowski Wins Draw At Mercer Gridiron Classic

MACON, Ga. - Lea Kozierowski did not drop a set on her way to winning her singles draw in Flight B2 to highlight the tournament for the Mercer women's tennis team at the Mercer Gridiron Classic over the weekend.
Kozierowski won all four of her matches including defeating Alabama State's Cleanne Pickel in the championship match, 6-2, 6-2.
Sophomore, Tea Zivic also played well for the Bears in her singles draw as she went 2-1 and reached the semifinals of her draw where she dropped her match to Terezia Barianakova of Kennesaw State, 6-4, 6-3.
The Bears had two of their doubles teams reach the semifinals of their draws as Zivic and Jelena Gojkovic reached the semifinal match in Flight A, and in Flight B, Dzhastina Mikhnova and Kennedi Jones reached the semifinal match as well.
Mercer will continue its fall season at the ITA Regional Championships in Atlanta, Georgia from Oct. 10-15.
