MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's basketball team continues its three-game road trip before the holiday break on Saturday as the Bears visit Winthrop. Tip-off is set for 2Â p.m. from Rock Hill, South Carolina.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the fifth all-time meeting between Mercer and Winthrop. The series is tied 2-2 with the Bears winning the last matchup between the two teams two years ago on Nov. 19, 2022 in Macon.
LAST TIME OUT
Alex Holt tallied 19 points to lead all scorers, but Mercer dropped a 73-66 contest on the road to Queens Wednesday night from Curry Arena in Charlotte, N.C.
The Bears trailed by one at halftime, but Queens opened up a 21-point lead midway through the second half. The Bears worked their wary back into the game over the final 10 minutes, getting within seven points with more than two minutes to play before Queens held on for the win.
NEED TO KNOW
Winthrop is the first and only Big South opponent the Bears will play in the regular season.
SCOUTING WINTHROP
Winthrop enters Saturday's game with a 9-4 record on the season. The Eagles play in the Big South Conference.
Winthrop had its five-game winning streak come to an end last Tuesday with an 82-64 loss at Florida State. Winthrop has been tough to beat at home this season as the Eagles are 8-1 inside the Winthrop Coliseum.
Winthrop leads the Big South in scoring offense at 85.0 points per game. Defensively the Eagles rank towards the middle of the conference as they are allowing 72.3 points per game.
Winthrop has four players averaging double-figures in scoring led by senior forward, Kelton Talford who is averaging 14.7 points per game. Talford also leads the Eagles in rebounding with 7.8 rebounds per game.
