Saturday's game will be the 89th all-time meeting between Mercer and Georgia State. Mercer leads the series, 48-40 including the last meeting between the two teams last season in Macon.

LAST TIME OUT
In a game with plenty of offense, the Winthrop Eagles outlasted the Mercer Bears 102-97 Saturday afternoon from Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Ahmad Robinson led all players with 27 points, his third game this season with at least 25 points. Mercer shot 34-of-72 (47%) from the field while the Eagles went 31-of-57 (54%) from the floor. Each team made 11 three-pointers as well on the day. The Bears forced Winthrop into 17 turnovers and scored 31 points off them. Mercer's bench also outscored Winthrop's 36-20.

Georgia State enters Saturday's game with a 4-8 record on the season. The Panthers play in the Sun Belt Conference.

Georgia State is looking to snap a 5-game losing streak with its most recent loss coming by the final score of 77-57 at Troy on Dec. 21. The Panthers are 3-2 at home this season. Both of Georgia State's losses at home were its last two games played at home against Kennesaw State and Charlotte.

Georgia State is averaging 71.6 points per game while allowing 79.8 points per game which ranks last in the Sun Belt. The Panthers' leading scorer is senior forward Zarique Nutter who averages 15.7 points per game. Zutter has scored in double-figures in all but one game this season. Senior forward Nick McMullen leads the Sun Belt in rebounding at 10.1 rebounds per game.
