SCOUTINGÂ STETSON Stetson entered the 2024-25 season following one of its best seasons in program history in 2023-24. Last season, the Hatters won the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament and earned an automatic NCAA Tournament bid. Stetson was picked to finish 8th in the 12-team ASUN in the preseason coaches poll and 6th in the media poll. Stetson is led by head coach Donnie Jones who is in his sixth year with the Hatters and 15th season overall as a head coach. After opening the season with a win over New College (FL), Stetson has since lost seven straight games. The Hatters are coming off a close 74-72 loss to USF on Tuesday. Stetson is averaging 72.1 points per game and allowing an ASUN worst 81.6 points per game. The Hatters have been shooting the ball well at 45.9 percent which ranks third in the ASUN. Stetson can get careless at times with the ball as they average the most turnovers per game in the ASUN at 15.1 per game. Stetson's leading scorer is junior guard Mehki Ellison who is averaging 11.9 points per game. Ellison is a Division II transfer from Mott Community College where he was named an NJCAA Second Team All-American. Â |
