WEST POINT, N.Y. – Mercer's tandem of Samuel MacLeod and Samuel Barrow toughed out a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles, but Georgetown used a key 7-5 win on court No. 2 to grab the doubles point, and then tallied a trio of singles matchups in straight sets to defeat the Bears, 4-0, at Army's Malek Tennis Center on Saturday evening.
The Orange & Black (1-7) logged opening-set victories at both Nos. 2 and 5 singles, but the Hoyas (4-2) won on court Nos. 1, 6 and 3 to secure the team win. Dini topped and Kieran Foster split the first two sets at No. 2 singles, but Dini led the third set, 5-0, and was well on the way to his second singles win of the 2023-24 campaign when play was stopped.
The Bears will be back in action again on Friday when they return home to take on Stetson (3-2) in a noon matchup at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center. Admission to all 2023-24 Mercer men's and women's tennis matches is free.
