Men’s Golf Tied for 7th Place After Day One at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate

HUMACAO – Tobias Jonsson carded a team's best 69 to settle into a share of sixth place on the individual leaderboard and lead the Mercer men's golf team to a tied 7^th-place standing after opening-day action at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate.

The Bears posted a combined 287 (-1) in Sundays action at Palmas Del Mar Golf Club in Humacao, Puerto Rico but Kennesaw State State (-8) sits alone in first place. Behind the Owls is Arkansas (-7) and behind them is UNCG and Michigan tied at 3-under-par.

Jonathan Parker turned in a 1-under-par 71 and sits in a tie for 14^th place after the first round, while Trey Mixon tallied a 72 (E) to claim a share of 26^th place. Jacob Uyesato and Jay Spivey are tied for 61^th place after shooting a 3-over-par (75).

The Bears continue the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate tomorrow morning.
