MACON – Mercer men's basketball (12-15, 5-9) will host The Citadel (10-17, 2-12) on Wednesday for the final weeknight game at Hawkins Arena. Tipoff is at 7 p.m., and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.Â
In this season's first matchup between the two squads, the Bears lost a game-high 16-point lead in the second half with The Citadel taking over with 42 seconds remaining. The Bears have a 6-3 record at home vs. The Bulldogs.

| Mercer handed conference-leading Samford its fourth loss of the season and only second loss of conference play on Saturday in Hawkins Arena. Though they trailed for most of the first half, the Bears remained poised and brought the energy and conquered the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 50-44. Jalyn McCreary dropped 27 points, David Thomas scored a career-high 22 points, and Alex Holt scored a season-high 18 points and added eight rebounds. |

| The Citadel's two conference wins came over Mercer on January 24 of this season and its most recent game against VMI on Saturday. In the 76-51 win over VMI, four Citadel players scored in double digits, led by AJ Smith with 19. Quentin Millora-Brown logged a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. The Bulldogs lost two nailbiters back-to-back on January 31 and February 3, taking Furman to overtime before losing by three, and then losing to ETSU by two. The Bulldogs had a 14-point lead on Furman at halftime, but the Paladins fought back to single digits and sent the game to overtime on a last-second 3-pointer by JP Pegues. FU took the lead with 2:48 left in OT and held it to the end. |
