Bears Open 2024 Campaign In Atlanta, Charlotte

MACON – The Mercer track & field team will lift the lid on its 2024 regular season on Friday and Saturday when the Bears split their squad and head to events in both Atlanta and Charlotte, N.C.

Six of Mercer's sprinters and jumpers will compete as part of the Georgia Tech-hosted Yellow Jacket Invite George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility. The event, originally scheduled for two days in Midtown Atlanta, will now be completed in its entirety on Saturday.

The distance runners for the Bears will pack up their show and head to southwest North Carolina for the Charlotte-hosted 49er Classic at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center. A majority of the harriers for the Orange & Black will compete as part of a block of long-distance events on Friday evening in the facility, while the 800m Run is scheduled for an early afternoon start on Saturday.
