MACON – Beach volleyball lost just one individual match Saturday as the Bears swept Carson-Newman and LaGrange College, 5-0. The lone loss came in the continuation of yesterday's suspended match against the Eagles.

Carson-Newman fought hard on courts three and four, taking the Bears to three sets apiece. The No. 3 pairing of Lexi Polychrones and Reese Hood opened the first set with a 21-12 win, but the Eagles forced, and eventually won, the third set 15-12, while Liv Diaz and Kathryn Corbett dropped a tough second set 22-24 but prevailed in the third.

Seniors Jordan Morris and Alyssa Scoggins teamed up on court five to help guide the Bears to their first sweep of the day, defeating the Eagles 21-18, 21-14.

The Bears then won in straight sets in all five matches against the Panthers. After sweeping their way through the Bears Beach Bash, Kate Hardie and Sydney Benson improved to 4-1 overall at No. 1.

Nicole O'Mara and Jordan Paddock, alongside Polychrones and Hood were all stellar in the sand, while Diaz and Corbett cruised to their own victory on court four. Scoggins and Hollis Engel dominated on court five, rounding out the sweep with back-to-back 21-4 decisions.

The Bears now prepare for the Sun Belt Mid-Year Weekend, where they will face conference foes Louisiana Monroe, Georgia State, Coastal Carolina, and Southern Miss.
