Bears Finish in 12th At The Linger Longer Invitational

EATONTON – The Mercer men's golf team finished in 12th-place in a stacked field at the MU-hosted Linger Longer Invitational at the par-72, 7,436-yard Great Waters Golf Course.

Jonsson (-5) led the way for the Bears and finished the tournament in three-way tie for 16th place in Eatonton. Mercer's Jacob Uyesato (+11) tallied one eagle and finished tied 61st place with three other players at the end of the tournament, while senior Jay Spivey (+8) turned in 3-over-par 75 and finished in a three-way tie for 52th place. Senior Jonathan Parker (+14) finished the tournament tied 71st place. Junior Trey Mixon (+23) finished tied for 78th place to round out scoring for the Orange & Black.

Freshman Charlie Fischer (+11) and senior Gustav Sjoberg (+12) finished the tournament tied for 61st and 64th place, respectively.Â

#21 Alabama cruised past the rest of the 14-team field by 11 strokes after the final round. No 12. Virginia (-29) finished the tournament in second place after the final round, while Georgia (-26) rounds out the top three.

The Bears will be back on the tee box on April 6th when they participate in the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational at the Forest Hill Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia
