Last season, Clemson went 12-6 and 4-6 in the ACC. They lost to North Carolina in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals. Despite the 2023 season being the program's first season in division I lacrosse, the season was highlighted by an 11-10 upset over No. 13 Duke and a top 25 national ranking for nine straight weeks. Clesmon did however just miss out on making the NCAA Tournament.
Clemson returned 17 players and added nine transfers and eight freshmen in the offseason. The freshmen group was named the No. 4 overall class in the country by Inside Lacrosse, featuring the No. 2 overall freshman in Natalie Shurtleff. Clemson's Hanna Hilcoff and Ella Little were named Preseason USA Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mentions as well.
This season, Clemson is averaging 15.6 goals per game and allowing just 9.8 per game. The Tigers lead the ACC in shots on goal per game at 26.8 per game. They also average the third most draw controls per game in the ACC at 16.2 per game.
