Beach Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season In Birmingham

MACON – In their final regular season match, beach volleyball fell 3-2 to UAB. Mercer finished its season 16-17, posting the most wins in a single season in program history.

The No. 3 pairing of Lexi Polychrones and Reese Hood won in straight sets 21-18, 21-19, while the No. 4 pairing of Liv Diaz and Kathryn Corbett went 3-0 on the weekend, defeating the Blazers duo 21-15, 21-16.

In the deciding match, Alyssa Scoggins and Hollis Engel dropped the opening frame 20-22, but bounced back to take the second 21-14. The pair could not overcome Addison Atkins and Lauren Mohler, dropping the third set 12-15.

The Bears are now preparing for the Sun Belt Conference Championship, beginning April 25th in Huntsville, Ala.
