ATLANTA – Senior Bri Teegarden eclipsed a 10-year-old school record on the way to a fourth-place finish in the 3000m Steeplechase, while three other Bears tacked up personal best marks as well, to highlight action for the Mercer track & field team on Friday at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

Teegarden busted former MU standout Linda Wrede's previous program superlative by more than five seconds, while also topping her previous personal best in the discipline by more than eight seconds, en route to recording her fifth career top-10 finish in the grueling event. Fellow senior Patrycja Miazek tallied an eighth-place finish in her collegiate debut in the 3000m Steeplechase on Friday as well.

Junior Jiya Hastings and freshman Jayla Battle also established new personal best marks in the Long Jump on Friday.

Mercer will close out action at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday with competition in seven events, beginning with the 4x100m Relay at 1 p.m. The Bears will debut their 4x400m Relay at 5:30 p.m. to cap Saturday's schedule.
