Bears Debut 4x100m Relay Squad At South Florida Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. – Melissa Ubani, Jiya Hastings, Samaiya O'Dneal and Ceylani Rembert teamed up to register a ninth-place finish in Mercer's season debut in the 4x100m Relay as the Bears began and wrapped up competition at the USF-hosted South Florida Invitational on Saturday in Tampa, Fla.

Seven different Bears were in action on Saturday, including six that competed in individual events. Freshman Jiya Hastings (Long Jump) and junior Ariel Raggs (400m Hurdles) both registered top-20 finishes in their respective disciplines at the USF Track & Field Stadium. Rembert led the way for the Orange & Black in the 400m Dash, while Ubani was tops for MU in the 100m Dash.

The Bears will be back in action again next weekend when they split their sloth and head to both the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., and the South Carolina State-hosted Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Classic in Orangeburg, S.C.
